Hardware v4 doesn't work in Windows 7!10/5/2010 6:21:27 PM
Pros: Using version 1,2,3 will probably work fine.
Cons: Using version 4 which is what I was shipped doesn't work at all.
Overall Review: Tech support is 24/7 but I got tired of trying to listen to half-broken English and got frustrated and hung up. Maybe I'll call back and get someone who speaks better.
Manufacturer Response:
Dear Chris,
Please email me personally at vernon.tan@tp-link.com. I will put you in contact with an engineer that can help you.
Best Regards,
Vernon
Pros: Built-in Windows 7 compatibility. Comes with a long USB male to female cable -- if necessary you can relocate it for better signal.
Cons: USB cap will probably get lost. But I use it for a desktop and it will probably always be plugged in. In other words, who cares?
Overall Review: To reiterate, it does have Windows 7 drivers. It is not listed in the NewEgg spec list, but the driver is available on the TP-Link website. However, even that is unnecessary. Win7 already had the driver. Just plug and play.
I'm glad to be the first one to try out this new arrival.
Pros: This is small and capable of packet injection. USB extension cable included.
Cons: Not incredibly strong signal. It's a bit wide, so if you have two ports side-by-side, you'll need the USB extension cable.
Overall Review: This is a great tool for techs to have in their pocket. Works well under BackTrack 5, installs without drivers in Windows, and it's super cheap. If they built a USB key and a screwdriver into it, it would be the perfect PC troubleshooting tool.
Pros: Was very cheap and easy to use. Originally I was satisfied with the product.
Cons: It is slowly and surely failing me. Over the past month, its performance has been degrading. While I am still able to use the internet, I cannot download a file and browse with an explorer at the same time. The display showing signal strength has steadily declined despite neither the PC nor the wireless router moving.
Overall Review: I have owned this adapter for 10 months, but in this modern age I expect more longevity from my technology products. Still, for those who want a cheap solution for moderate internet use, this device will probably suffice.
Cons: software is confusing. kinda bulky when you have multiple usb items plugged in.
Overall Review: Other than the cons, it's a great product. Hadn't had a problem with it at all.

Pros: Ordered 4 for resale in my shop, installed one so far in a laptop and a 2nd in a desktop (both XP machines), slim, sleek design, up and running in seconds...
Cons: None
Overall Review: Great to use as a replacement for an internal NIC that has gone bad and price is way better than other stores I checked.
Pros: Small, inexpensive, istallation was very easy (win xp)
Cons: none at this time
Overall Review: It just plain works. Getting 8 - 12 meg connection speeds (in same room with router). Keeps a very solid lock on the connection, no dropouts. Well worth the cost.
