I have a wifi camera outside. Will this enable me to use camera on wifi?

Yes, this should work fine for a wireless camera, assuming you're close enough and have good signal and all that. These work just like a normal wireless access point you would see in any wireless router. In fact I found that mine has a bit more range than my normal wireless router. About the only issue I have had is that some of my devices have trouble talking to other devices when both connected to the WAP. I use Chromecast on a few TV's and sometimes my tablets and phones have a hard time connecting to them.

I see specs say use home circuit wiring. I was planning on putting this outside on a different circuit. Will this work? Do I need to just put unit on front porch to get WiFi at my garage which is approximately 150' away?

Hi Jan,

I have mine on a different circuit breaker BUT it is in the same electrical panel.  In fact mine is located in my son's room, which was an  addition built decades after the house was built.  It works beautifully!  Remember you need to start with a kit of two, one is plugged into an outlet and connected with an Ethernet cable to your router, and the other is plugged in where needed after they are "paired".

My son uses both the hard wired connection for his pc and the wifi for his phone/ipad etc.  Good luck.
