Pros: For the price, this has been a fantastic router so far. Range is great; set-up was very straightforward when using the enclosed CD.
Cons: The printed "quick-start" guide should be ignored; use the CD. See note below about using this with Comcast cable modems
Overall Review: Comcast customers need to modify the set-up procedures. Contrary to the quick-start instructions (printed or on CD), you should (a) reset your cable modem by unplugging it for 5 seconds; (b) power-up your cable modem *before* connecting it to the router; (c) turn on computer and router; (d) connect the modem to the router. If you follow this procedure, you won't have any trouble with MAC addresses, etc.
Pros: Fast, inexpensive, able to flawlessly handle heavy simultaneous traffic and doesn't require constant reboots.
Cons: The vertical stand is definitely worthless. It feels like it was originally made for a different product and TP-Link just decided to toss it in with this router because it sorta worked. This isn't enough to knock off an egg though.
Overall Review: I bought this because my previous router of a reputable top brand was giving me a lot of trouble. It would require constant reboots especially when wired and wireless connections were being used simultaneously. I was also never able to reach my maximum download speed on a wired connection with my old router. I decided to go with this model because it was inexpensive and I liked what I read in the reviews and boy am I glad I did. This thing is amazing, by far the best router I've ever owned. My max speed in uTorrent has gone way up from 1.7MB/s to 2.8MB/s. Downloads from Xbox Live and PSN are also noticeably faster. Even with different devices all using the connection at the same time (even multiple Netflix streams at once), everything is routed properly with no slowdown. The wireless signal strength is also way better than my old router. But the thing I love the most abut this router is that I've owned it for over 2 months now and I have yet to reboot it. TP-Link is made of win
Pros: Great range, worked better than my netgear, which dropped signals all the time and cost twice as much. I would highly recommend. Have not had any issues. Has worked perfectly.
Cons: none.
Pros: One computer hooked to lan use vista . Wireless to another with ME an Puppy Linux . Use Rosewill wireless adapter RNX-G300EX . Up an running fast . seems to have good range too . New egg / UPS 3 days to get all the stuff , CA to KY .
Cons: Doesn't come in HOT PINK !! .
Overall Review: Clueless on security ? . Go to oldest system first . Set WPA set WPA-PSK set TKIP enter KEY of 8 to 32 digits . IF it will take WPA II Set it to that . set router same . Learn about the other security features later .
Pros: Um... pros... It works... it works all the time... it never stops working... and uh.... it just works!!
Cons: Setup went all weird on me the first time.. but I'm quite sure it was my fault.. I tried to change the password (not the router password, but the password to change the settings online) and I got stuck. I just opened the manual, figured out how to reset it and WOO I got it working again.. took like... 2 minutes I think.. but again, my fault.
Overall Review: I bought this on Oct 14 and I waited for over a month to give it a review because I wanted it to be valid and not one that was done after like a week. What can I say? It just works! It's my very first wireless router too. At first I wanted to get a Linksys or D-Link.. I mean don't get me wrong, those brands are very good. All I gotta say is this router is JUST AS GOOD.. which is all I could really ask for. $23 for a wireless router that has given me no problems and great range through 2 walls it just rocks... Newegg also gets 5 eggs.. the package came earlier than stated WOO! PS I know that some of you reading this might be a little skeptical because it's not a very known brand name.. I say take the chance =) I did, and now I'm very happy. Good luck!
Pros: Was out of the box and running in about five minutes. Great signal and range, gets me about 70% signal 50-60 feet away, through four or five walls. Price was really great too. Has not dropped signal once or given me one bit of trouble. Set it up, left it, and my wireless network is running perfectly weeks later.
Cons: None, really. For as good as it works and as cheap as it is, I'm not complaining.
Overall Review: I do not know where the problem was, but when my computer was connected to the wireless network, my wii was getting internet errors when trying to update. In any case it works fine now.
Pros: Very Easy set up Works and looks great!
Cons: I am struggling with one computer to get it to work but IPAD and new computer have no issues
Overall Review: Cant go wrong!! I think its faster then my d link G
Pros: works great when setup right, fairly easy setup
Cons: TECH SUPPORT after 6 weeks router went dead, 2 weeks after newegg return period, no lights at all emailed tech support, 3 days later emailed back with number to call, number was somebodys house in california, googled and found a good number, tech spoke chinese only, after 30 min wait english speaking (somewhat) lady said no warranty if bought in usa, called back, got different person, same story
Overall Review: newegg to the rescue! called newegg and told them story, in less than 1 minute the only decision i had to make was did i want a new one or refund!! way to go newegg, that is why i spend over 10k a year here, CUSTOMER SERVICE and ENGLISH SPEAKING REPS
