We purchased it to use in our LG cell phone to store photos taken with the camera phone plus additional phone numbers. I believe there are many such devices that use the MicroSD flash memory cards to store additional data.

I have a Samsung SGH a777 can I put music on this microSD flash card? This would be the only reason I want to buy this item, I don't care about pics.

you would but the amount of music you can place on a 2gb card is relatively limited, id go for a larger card, standard SD will work with anything that has an SD port, but watch out if you shop for larger ones if you go with an SD HD or SD HDX it may not work with as many different devices

The flash card will work for the phone, but if you need  extra space try one a little bigger then 2GB.
