Windows 10 drivers available?

Windows 8 and 10 are rather good at having universal ethernet drivers included with the OS. It should detect it, install the drivers, and have it functional immediately without you having to install software or go to the manufacturer's website

will this item work in my hp media center desktop 2005 version?

It should. I put one in a HP Pavilion and it works better than any I've had and I'm still using it. You may not get it's actual top speed though.
