Can a CRT monitor connect to this unit?

Yes.  As long as the monitor has a "VGA" style input connector, and the PCs being used both have video outputs which are also both compatible with the monitor, this switch will work.

Think of this switch as being the same as manually swapping between the two PCs by swapping cables at the monitor end.  If you can connect a plain VGA to VGA cable between the PC and the monitor, and it works, then having this switch between that PC and the monitor will also work.

If the PC's video output is NOT already compatible with your monitor,  then this switch won't magically make that happen.

But none of it cares if the monitor is a flat panel or a CRT.

Hello, I purchased the TRENDNET TK-205K on OCT 8, 2013, and it arrived the next day.  I use two computers daily  WindowsMe & XP 2006 and wanted to hook up both computers to one monitor, keyboard and mouse.  This product has really saved me time!

After installing the TRENDNET TK-205k with the provided cables, I turned on both PCs.  The WindowMe is Comp1, the XP2006 is Comp2.  On top the TK-205K there are two round switch buttons (1 & 2) each have a light area next to it.  The active computer will display a green light to the right of to the button.

When I want to switch from one computer to the other, I simply push the round switch button on top the TK-205K for the desired computer and in about 10 seconds the switchover is complete.

I only had one problem:  I use an ergonomic keyboard that has the old PS/2 type connection.  The XP2006 has only USB ports, so I use a USB to PS/2 Keyboard Mouse Splitter.  When using this device, I must leave the TK-205K green mouse cable for the XP2006 disconnected so the Optical Mouse to work.

Comment:  I really liked the blue color of the TK-205K, but the one I received was white.
