Yes absolutely. Perfect for a 1st or 2nd NIC or replace a burned out onboard connection. I use them to connect external devices to a desktop without going through our companies heavily regulated, guarded and problematic network of cable, connections, switches and servers. Just change the address of the external device's address so it's not the same as the YU2-ET100's.

Will this work as a replacement for the broken ethernet port in my laptop, allowing me to share my wireless internet signal through an ethernet cable to my xbox?

I used it on a laptop the didn't come with Ethernet connection.  It only came with wifi.   This turned a USB into an Ethernet so that I could connect the PC with an Ethernet cable to the router.  Your best bet is to ask the manufacturer.

will it work with windows 8.1 pro?

I have not tried it with 8.1 pro. However, this device is simply a wire to wire conversion, so the Operating System does not know if the data comes in on a USB cable or a RJ45 cable. It should work. Best of luck.

Will this product work for making a USB only printer a network printer?

If your printer connects thru wifi then all you need to do is install the printer software in every pc and you should be able to print from any pc in the network. If it doesn't have wifi then get a new one, it is probably better than messing around and trying to connect an old printer

The version of the TU2-ET100 available here is the one first available on August 29, 2020. It supports Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7 and Mac OS 10.11 to 10.6.

Can the MAC address be changed on this device in windows?

No. A MAC address is a preconfigured hardware address and cannot be changed. Only on a router with MAC address cloaning can a MAC address be changed.
