A power surge seems to have taken out the ethernet port on my desktop. Will this allow me to reestablish my RJ45 dsl connection via a usb port? Is this only for computer to computer connections? Thanks for any advise.

The USB Ethernet adapter functions just like a NIC or Network port in the computer, it just translates through the USB port. My laptop has NO RJ45 jack at all, just wireless. So for a wired connection I use the Trendnet USB network adapter - it works just great.

Will this work with Windows 10 without a separate driver install? In other words will it simply plug and play without any installation?

These really work well for us. I would say it's pretty much plug and play with minimal installation. I didn't need to do anything special to get it to work.

Does this work with the Raspberry Pi 3 model B?

I have used this with Raspberry Pi 2 and it works flawlessly. My guess is, it should work with Raspberry Pi 3 Model B.
