Does this require a dedicated Ethernet cable, or can it be used on an existing network?

If you're asking whether this can be implemented using existing LAN ethernet cabling ran thru a switch the answer is definitely "No, it needs its own Ethernet cable, which connects on both ends into one of the "black boxes". Other than that: good luck! it's a great product, I've had zero problems. just keep an eye on the maximum length supported and DO NOT push your luck and either cut-it-close or go over the supported Ethernet cable length because you WILL lose the (auto-sync) signal.

Question 2

need to run use one for remote display from a computer to Two (2) wall mounted TV?

This will only do 1. 
If you purchase one of these (B1261A0B) and one of these (B126-004),  you can distribute one source to up to 4 displays .(you would need one (B1261A0B) for every display.

These work great, but they do not work well through a patch panel. I have cables directly from the transmitter to the receiver, not going through a patch panel and it works great. When we tried through a patch panel it did not work well.

Question 3

What does the equalizer adjust? I would think that a 100% reproduction of the signal would not need adjustment. Does this mean that the signal distorts in some way between transmitter and receiver?

Will the transmitter allow the signal to pass through to the local monitor if power is removed?

Can additional reivers be added if 3 cables are connected in parallel?

hey Nathan! I haven't had to play with the equalizer, the manual says it's for "video image adjustment" but only when necessary.
the extenders have worked well from day but don't get passed the specified maximum cable length of 175FT for 1080i and 125FT for 1080p or it starts to loose signal and the monitors go into Stand-by mode.
there's a separate connection for the local monitor, independent from the remote connection.
there's several installation diagrams in the manual, have you been able to look at it? I can scan some diagrams if you like.
from what I understand is that when you use a model with four outputs you can keep adding repeaters for up to 3X 125/175FT

Question 4

does this support ARC (audio return channel)?

Product has not worked at all for me.  Purchased a firewire adapter cable and have had zero luck.  Very disappointed in this product.  Sitting here on my desk like a paperweigh
