Question 1

My HP Pavilion laptop has lost its sound, i was told a USB Soundcard would give me sound. Will this work or is it something that enhances your existing sound from the computer or headset. My soundcard is probably built into the harddrive (?) and would not be practical to repair.

Accepted Answer

This will take the place of your integrated sound card. It will probably do it automatically when you plug it in. If not follow the instructions. This works with external speakers.

Question 2

1) Will it work on Mac OS 10.5.8?

2) The problem is really bad when I plug in my MacBook to my 12-volt charger/power supply. I have a cord between my MacBook's headphone jack to my 12-volt home stereo amp for sound when I'm watching videos on the computer. Way too much noise. Can't hear the show. Must unplug power supply to computer but then down to 7% when the show is finished.

The problem is due to the headphone? j ack  I manage to plug it in and connect it to a pair of head phones. I kno already that it works fine on my computer. So it would work for you. All you have to do. is restart your computer and let it Bo ot with the os. You should configure your sound scheme and then restart. I havent tried with speaks but I'm sure that it would work.
