Hi, Are these headphones Brand New?

It is a Christmas present but the box is pristine and the headset appears new. It's a great deal I know my son will like them.

is this a new headset or a recertified (refurbished) headset, and does the optical cable come with it?

I think it is a new product. It came all packaged up. I didn't see something that says it is refurbished. It did come with an optical cable.

How heavy is this headset? My current headset is very good, but is heavy enough to irritate my scalp during long gaming sessions.

I'm sorry I can't really answer this question since it was a gift for my son and he hasn't been able to use it since I didn't realize it was a headset for the XBOX and not a regular computer and he couldn't convert it to work with his computer.

will i be able to pair this with my laptop (win7) while paired with my xbox360?  Was told all I needed was a bluetooth adapter

You can pair the blue tooth with the laptop to play music and such but you won't be able to use the bluetooth mic on the headset at the same time.

Hi,
Will these work with the Xbox One? I have heard that some Xbox 360 headphones will work with the Xbox One. Has anyone tried?

Sorry, I don't know.  My son had an XBOX 360 but when it  broke or wore out (I'm not sure which) he decided he didn't want a new one so I don't know if it will work.

My last pair of turtle beach surround sound headphones were kind of an open air design, so you'd hear what's going on outside of the headphones pretty easily too.  Are these as private as traditional headphones?

Will this headset work in a Bluetooth-only setup, or does it require the receiver?

With a PC it will. Not sure about the Xbox or Playstation but the audio quality on the Bluetooth is "call quality" and I wouldn't use it to listen to audio or music.

Can these be used with an ipod?

They cannot. These are wireless and do not have a 3.5mm jack on them.  I suppose you could connect your ipod to the wireless transmitter but you'd have to stay in range or if.

Do these work for PC?

My husband and son could not convert it to work with his computer.

Will this work on a PC too?

You will be able to hear sound with them, but the MIC will not work.
