Does it run on battery or charge from the base? If it runs on the base what's the charge time and battery life?

Hi Darin! The base does NOT charge the batteries. Luckily, 4 rechargeable batteries and a charger are real cheap these days {less than $15 at a local store}. You can use 2 batteries while the other 2 charge. My charge lasts for about a week depending on how much I play. On a side note, these work with XBox1 and PS4 too.

Is this headset/microphone compatible with VOIP on my laptop?

Hi,

As long as your laptop is blue tooth compatible you can use this headset.

A couple of things I noticed after purchase;
Headphones have no way of charging batteries, make sure you buy two sets of rechargable bats and charger.

If you have older. Version of blue tooth on laptop or USB, the quality of sound is abysmal. This is a very limited issue so no worries.

I will say that love the headset and use it for business, well worth it until you are caught without batteries. =)
