Is this compatibility with windows 7?

It detected automatically under Windows 7 Professional as a "Agere System USB 2.0 Softmodem". It performed internal diagnostics OK, but I didn't bother to send a fax with it.

Can this modem broadcast internet when plugged in to a computer that uses Ethernet?

No, it's only a dial-up modem. The modem features a 4-pin (2 phone line) RJ11 phone jack on it. It will not work or communicate directly with Ethernet or broadcast it. It's only a bridge to communicate with another device through analog phone lines with the computer via USB configured to use a COM port on the computer. Old-fashioned dial-up communication protocol.

Question 3

Will this work to patch my landline calls through the pc for recording and transcribing notes?  I want to use my desk phone, but I want to be able to record the calls so that I can go back and re-listen to them

You may want to search for a Dictaphone recording device instead. Although you may be able to record conversations with this device, it is really going to depend if you are able to get the correct software, and would most likely require a modem with a listed "voice" capability. Most Dictaphone devices have adapters and record directly to MP3 (for uploading to computers, emailing, etc).

Does it have a driver for Windows 10"?
I purchased a one similar to it for much less a few months back only to find that Windows 8.1 was the last driver available for it!

Yes, I'm using it in Windows 10. It automatically installed the drivers.

How do you install this on windows xp?

Actually I installed this on Win 7 64 bit.  I imagine you can go to the US Robotics support site and check for Win XP drivers download the drivers and unzip it, then connect the USB modem and install the drivers if needed or just install it so you are using oem drivers. Connect your telephone cable and make a test call/fax or use your application. NOTE - if the support site does not have drivers for Win XP, this may not be a good by for your application.

I think that this modem was made to bring very old-fashioned internet to a computer.  I would not try to put a phone on it.  Sorry

Just a quick question-will this work with computer running windows 10 that needs to communicate with outside server using a dial up connection?

I don't see why it would not.  It is a full featured modem.  Works great for me.  I use it mostly for sending faxes though.  Would be happy to test it for you.  Let me know how to get in touch with you.
