The access points still require an ethernet cable for connection, they will work as a seamless mesh system once all are adopted by the gateway router. speeds of the AP's depend on the version you get, wifi 7 is the latest and can provide a theoretical speed of 46 Gbps throughput, but this all depends on your ISP speed as well as the internal network speeds from your other hardware, as well as your end point device and what it can handle.
