will the cable from the ps3 work with this software?

Not 100% sure but would think as long as the hook up the same I would think so because its just a cable like a speaker wire. So if ya plug in from guitar to the cable then into usb port I would think so. Best thing I would suggest email Ubisoft.

You need the cable that came with the original Rocksmith or you could buy a version of this that comes with the cable. What I did was buy the original w/cable, $29 most places now (cable cost that by itself) and then buy this software which is superior to the original but you could transfer all the songs from the original to this.

It shows up as a mic in your sound settings and all you need to do is set it as your input when you are trying to use it with other software.

Do you have to have internet access to play or can you use the internet to install then play off line?

I just tried playing it offline by turning my internet off and it gave me an option to access steam offline and then it loaded the game up.  So I don't see any problem once you have installed the program and updated it through steam that you can bypass using the internet by connecting to steam in the offline mode and it should load the rocksmith 2014 up no problem but you will have no access to the ubisoft servers. If you downloaded the program from steam after purchase it should be there in your steam purchases to download again.

Is this product for Mac only can I get one for windows?

The game works on both Windows and Mac (using Steam) but you will need a special USB to 1/4" audio cable adapter that connects your guitar to the computer ("Real Tone Cable"). If you don't already have one you should get the version of the game that includes the cable.
