Will the metal teeth damage my jar lids?
The teeth grip securely without digging in. Firm plastic and metal caps stay perfectly functional; very soft aluminum caps may show light surface marks but remain completely resealable.

Yes. The V-shaped jaw automatically adapts to any lid size from 0.2? up to 5.3?. Just insert the lid, and it self-centers for a firm grip. Severely dented caps may still need a rubber strap backup.
Is it truly dishwasher safe?
Absolutely. All materials are top-rack dishwasher safe. We only recommend drying the sawtooth area after the cycle to keep the teeth at their sharpest.
