Am wondering if this device can or could be used in conjunction with portable laptop pc using either a 2.0 or 3.0 usb connection for scanning prices at grocery stores?

I provide IT support to a number of small businesses. One business needed to replace their Contact Scanner for their Point Of Sales device; and they had a short list of compatible scanners. This scanner met their specs and was easy to install. Scanner is lightweight, versatile. We purchased a second scanner for use on the business computer running Windows OS. I strongly suggest that you purchase scanner with the USB cord attached.
