Your main product page title lists the product as SATA II but the "features" section shows the specification of the product as Serial ATA 1.0.

Could you please clarify as to which I would expect to receive?

This is a 6-port SATA to PCI card and includes hardware RAID.  It allows you to use up to 4 SATA hard drives simultaneously.  The jumpers can be configured to either use 2 internal SATA and 2 external eSATA drives or 4 internal SATA drives.

I currently have the card running 2 internal SATA drives using software RAID on a NAS server (running NAS4Free) on an old (2000 era) Dell PC.  The system works excellent as a NAS (Networked Attached Storage) server.  Windows XP did recognize the card and the 2 hard drives after following the instructions.  I set it up in XP before transitioning this old PC to a NAS server.

No issues whatsoever with this card.  Just keep in mind it can only run 4 SATA hard drives simultaneously.

Question 2

I have already purchased this card and am trying to get a hitachi 2 tb hard drive installed but the card or the computer never sees it on boot. Before you say the hard drive is bad, I have tried 3 new ones. All of the same type, from 2 different places. The hard drive and this card is sata 2, I noticed that the software that came with this card is from 2006. Could that be the problem and if so where can I find updated drivers?

For the latest software, I would Google search for the Vantec website and download and install the latest driver for your computer. Remember to get the correct x32 or x64 bit version.
The Vantec responds to the first INTA for what hardware is connected to or in the computer. This Vantec may not pass the POST interrogation beyond the basic card and not what is connected to the card. You may have to reconfigure your system and connect the hard drive directly to a USB port native to the motherboard in order to have the computer recognize it.

Question 3

Will this work if i try to install a blue ray player or burner if i hook it up to one of the sata ports, or is the sata 1 kinda limited on that?

I've only used to card for hard drive access, so I'm uncertain about blue ray players. I mainly bought this card in order to connect addition internal sata hard drives to my motherboard. I have not tried to hook up other esata devices such, as blue ray players. I have not had any problems accessing hard drives with the card. However, I also only used my card in linux, so I'm sure how it would work with windows.

will 4TB hadrives work with this card?

I connected two 6 Tb and 1 3 TB to it, then spanned them for a total of 13.5 TB of storage.  It wouldn't allow me to connect a four drive bay But I was able to use the internal connectors to connect the drives and read them.

will this card work in win 7 32 bit?

Sorry I can't answer your question.  My card is in an old 32-bit Linux machine. I can tell you that the motherboard correctly revealed the card's presence and capabilities for Linux to handle it, so I would expect your motherboard will, too.  Your motherboard being undoubtedly newer than mine, I'd be surprised if it didn't correctly discover and enable the card, and your operating system correctly deal with it.

Yes it will as far as I know there is no reason why it will not.  I have it in a Win 10 machine and it works just fine.

Question 8

With the main M/B controller gone out will or can you boot up drive 0 on this controller card the fiirst HD port or is there a way to boot using only this card on the m/b when you have lost the orginal controller on the M/M????

First of all this device is a RAID controller not just an add on card. If you motherboard is dying  I would suggest a usb to drive type device.  Win 7 and on allow a boot from a usb device so long as that part of the motherboard is  not dead as well.

Is this card Sata 1, or 2?
The info here states its a Sata ll 150, but a Sata ll is 300, NOT 150....

The website for Vantec states it is the Silicon Image Sil3114 SATA controller chip. This chipset is Sata 1.
