What cable do I need to order with this.  have to run to the back usb-2 ports?

It plugs into the internal 9 pin USB connector directly to the motherboard!

Does it have the 9 pin use header plug?

It does have a 9 pin USB cable hard wired coming directly off the center back of the plastic case. The cable attached to mine is 23.25" long from back of case to end of plug. If I can be of any more help let me know.

Does the front panel USB port have a 2.0 port?

This drive is an internal drive. That's why I bought it. It has many SD card reader, writer ports. It is 3.0 and downward compatible. Perhaps I misunderstood your question but it will work in either a 3.5 inch bay or a 5.25 bay with the adapter that come with it.... I did have issues with the screw connections for my large system case. But I worked them out...  I'm sitting here looking at as I type...and I have NO problems with it.

Question 4

How deep are the pins for the compact flash?  I have a rosewel reader now and the pins are bent on the cf reader.  Possibly card doesn't go in deep enough to be straight?  This is important to me.

yes will happen when  the card is put in card is put in crooked bending the pins or got the  wrong card.
