Is it Windows XP compatible?

I have not actually hooked up yet as I am waiting on my computer. I looked at the box and only says Win8 and Win7 compatible. The Viewsonic website says Win8, Win 7 and Vista drivers. If you want I will hook up to my old XP machine. My guess is no but I will try if you want me to.

can i plug a usb flash drive into this tv and display data from it?

If this monitor is plugged into your computer the answer is actually yes.  If you have plugged the monitor into your computer with the monitors OUTPUT USB-B port (The fat usb port that is immediately next to the two normal usb ports) then run the cable to the back of your computer and plug the normal usb end into the computer, AND YOU HAVE THE CORRECT DRIVERS INSTALLED, yes it will recognize any usb device, mouse, keyboard and even a flash drive.  Once you plug it in you will see that Windows will recognize the flash drive as a "removable drive" that can be found under "This PC" in a file folder window.

The complicated part is that you will need to get a "USB 2.0 A male to B male" cable if you do not already have one.   Just do an internet search and you will immediately find them.  I see 40 or 50 different ones right now after doing a single search, price starting at 2$
