Question 1

I'm wondering what is the height for this monitor when it's in its lowest position? I see the dimensions in the specs, but I'm assuming that measurement wasn't taken. I need a monitor that will fit a shelf that is exactly 14 inches tall and I'm wondering if this will work. Thanks for your time.

At its lowest setting the height is 17".  I actually was hoping that it was around 15", but I made it work by changing the size of the opening.  I really like the monitor for its crisp, sharp picture and rapid response.  If you're planning to use the built-in speakers, they are pretty weak.  I use stand alone LabTec speakers, which are so much better.

Question 2

How do you get the display to raise. I have two of these and I can't get the display to raise. There is a pin on the arm but it doesn't do anything? TIA

I don't know why Newegg asked me to answer your question. I bought a ViewSonic VP2270-LED which is electrically different from yours. But mechanically the same I believe which may be why.

Anyway, the pin sticking out of the side of the support in the back is there for shipping purposes to prevent the support from extending while in transit. Mine had a small white plastic tie holding it in place when I received it. And according to the assembly manual that came with mine. (always Read The Farout Manual) After the monitor is assembled to the stand, you cut the tie, and pull the pin out. Be careful not to get the pin on your clothes afterwards as it will have a small amount of lubricant on it. Just wipe the pin clean and save if future use. It will be handy when you go to move the monitor in the future. With the pin out the monitor will now be easy to adjust up/down as needed. Mine can be raised with one hand and stays where I put it. You gotta pull the pin out.

Question 3

Does anyone know if the monitor can display 1680 x 1050? I need that resolution for a specific program.

Accepted Answer

Yes - tested on HP computer (add-on video card ATI Radeon HD 4350) and HP laptop (Intel Graphics 3000).  Both 1680x1050 displays looked good.

Also consider checking your system video graphic (on Windows 7 pro - "Screen Resolution" - "Advanced Settings" - on adapter form - "List all Modes") to confirm your system video can support 1680x1050 with desired options.
