The dimensions are a bit confusing to me. I need to know the exact specs so that I can use a sit / stand combo platform which holds 2 of these monitors. The Dimensions listed here under specs are 22.3" x 17.5" x 8.5" (the ones I get with my tape measure are 22.3" x 14.5") Can anyone verify these dimensions, or at least tell me where these come from?

You are correct the actual height of the monitor is 14.5" and the width is 22.3".  The 17.5" height includes the stand which elevates the monitor by 3" and has an 8"x8" footprint.
