So, from the review, was the "black screen" a connector/cable issue? (Doesn't sound as if it was the monitor malfunctioning . . . )

From what I can tell from the review is that it appears that it was an adapter issue. I purchased this same monitor and have never had a issue with it. The monitor has 2 Display Ports and 1 HDMI port. I am using the DP myself.
