Hello, I'm using Radion HD7870, which has 6 MiniDisplay ports. I have 4 monitors but only 2 work at a time because I don't have active adapters. For me to run 4 monitors simultaneously, how many active adapters do I need? 2 or 4? given that 2 monitors are already working do I need to get just 2 more active adapters for the OTHER 2 to work? or I need 4 adapters to run 4 monitors? Also, do  you have a return policy? If so, how many days? what are the terms? thanks very much.

I have a Radeon HD7770, which has a slightly different output configuration than your HD7870. I have 2x DVI outputs and a full-size DisplayPort (not a mini). I have three monitors, one of which is being driven by the adapter mentioned here, the other two by the DVI-D ports on the card.

I think you'd only need 2 additional active adapters to get running with a total of 4 monitors. AMD has a Web page dedicated to Eyefinity you should look at. According to that page, a maximum of 2 active adapters are supported, so you'd probably be OK with 2, keeping in mind this particular adapter is not for mini Display Port.

Will this support NVIDIA 3D Surround? I need it to covert multiple DisplayPorts on a Geforce GTX 980 to (3) 3D monitors.

As far as I know DVI-D doesn't not transmit audio signal, it's video only. There are no other ports on this adapter besided DVI-D

I just purchased an ASUS ROG 760 Striker and I am trying to use this product to connect a third monitor to the Displayport. The other two monitors are connected directly via DVI to the graphics card and work fine but the monitor connected to this adapter is not displaying anything, nor is it being recognized by the computer. I made sure that this was an active adapter so it would work with NVIDIA Surround etc but I can't figure out as to why it wouldn't be working, is there something special I have to do?

I've used this adapter successfully  to run up to 4 monitors on a GTX660Ti:  2 DVI-DVI connections, 1 HDMI-DVI connection, and the DisplayPort to DVI adapter going to another DVI-DVI cable.  In fact, right now I'm typing this message on a HP ZR2740W 2560x1440 monitor running off the adapter.  You do need a Dual-Link DVI cable if you're going to a very high resolution monitor,, but I should think the only effect of using a single link cable would be a limit on resolution.

I've run this configuration on Linux using both the open source nouveau driver and Nvidia's proprietary nvidia driver.  I assume you're running Windows;  I can't give you any advice in that regard.

All I can suggest is to disconnect all the other monitors and see if you  can drive a single monitor through the adapter.

I want to plug this into my HP Folio 9470m laptop, and connect it to a DVI KVM that I have (SYBA SY-KVM20075), and then into my AOC e2243Fw.

The laptop specs say it has a DisplayPort 1.1a
The KVM cable is a DVI-D Single Link Male
The Monitor has a DVI-D female

Will this work?

Worked like a charm for me. however I used an amd 6950. All you'll need is a DVI male to DVI male or VGA male to connect to your AOC e2243Fw.

Does this work if you're using it between a DP++ output and a dual-link dvi-d, male-male cable (the other side of the male-male is connected to a monitor via dual-link dvi-d input)?

This model is for single link.  The dual link (DL) model is part number 900639.  Place that number in the search bar.  I bought the 900340 and it has the pin slots for the DL but doesn't have the DL capabilities.

Unfortunately the manufacturer doesn't have to list their "ingredients". I can say that after using mine for 2 moths, it does get warm, and handles 1080p output(with HDCP) flawlessly.
