What is the difference between DVI-D adapter and DVI-M adapter? They look the same to me in the pictures.

According to Wikipedia... The DVI connector on a device is given one of three names, depending on which signals it implements: DVI-D (digital only, single link or dual link) DVI-A (analog only) DVI-I (integrated, combines digital and analog in the same connector; digital may be single or dual link) But for the life of me, I can't find out what the "M" means.

So the ones with the faulty adapters, were you hot swapping this? meaning pluging it in with your system powered on. could be what toast stuff. lol

Mine died during a power failure... was working normally. Power went away... and when power came back on, it was done. It could be that whatever makes this thing pop during a power failure makes it pop during hotswap, like some circuit path is not protected. This is the *only* piece of equiptment i've every lost during/after a power failure. Everything is on surge suppressors etc. But we don't get too many power failures around here. once every few years on average.
