I have been using Radeon Cards for year with Windows and have had a great experience, I started using Linux about 6 or 7 years ago, have tried my Radeon card on Fedora,OpenSUSE,Ubuntu,Mandriva,Memphis,Knoppix and finally really settled on Linux Mint, however my experience with the Linux Radeon Drivers has been less than stellar. To answer your question, yes it will work with Linux, I have since moved on to Nvidia for the Driver Support that is built into the Ubuntu Distro's Such as Linux Mint just in the last 6 Months to a year. I seem to have fewer issues and better multi screen support. I will say this, neither are perfect. As I said....fewer issues.

does this support windows 7 and will it work with 300w psu?
if not please suggest another Gpu. will not change psu.

If you run any video card that has a power connector you need a 400 watt power supply minimum.

Select a card like SPARKLE PCI Series 700037 GeForce 8400 GS 512MB PCI Video Card to avoid updating your PS.
