Ok, so I won't be buying this.  I need a cordless that has persistent number tone.  (example: for voice mailbox entry, and home entry systems that require the button to be pressed (with a tone) for at least 2-3 secs)

Is this phone compatible with majicjack?

I don't have a magicjack but I can't imagine why not. It works fine with my Cisco SPA3102 which is a VOIP gateway like the magicjack.

This entirely depends on your voice mail system and you would need to consult the documentation for it. From your home phone you usually pick up the line and enter a special code to enter the voicemail system. For example Comcast's VOIP system is something like *99 then # then your passcode.
