Will the handset stand upright on it's own?

No it stands semi-upright only in the cradle exactly like pictured. The add-on units stand upright in their cradles but not on their own either.

No neither the Base station nor the Remote Handset is wall mountable.

what is the distance range?

I have a 5,000 square foot two story house with an attached garage and deck. The phone works fine anywhere in the house, garage or on the deck. I have never walked out into the yard while on the phone.

Do the phones have a headset jack?

Yes, there is a headset jack on the upper right side of the phone itself. No headset included with unit.
