It only has WiFi and Bluetooth connections.  If you need to use it in a mobile environment, then you should use it with a hot spot.

To answer your question it WILL NOT connect directly to the sprint network.

I am also a sprint subscriber and I have to use a mobile hot spot (phone) to get Internet on the go.

Does the headphone jack take a mic as well like an ipad or is it strictly just headphones?

I'm afraid I don't have that type of headset to test with.  What I can tell you is that there is a built in microphone, but the icon for the headphone jack does not appear to have a microphone on it.  There's also bluetooth.  Sorry I can't be more conclusive.  If that isn't a dealbreaker, I love this thing...  I may end up getting a new case/keyboard, but that's just about the only complaint I've got.

You should be able to hook your USB printer to it via USB.  The point of the OTG cable is that it should be like using any other Windows 8 device with a USB connection.  If your HP printer supports connections to a laptop or desktop via USB, it should work with this via the OTG USB connection.
