Where or when do I get the code so I can start downloading?

You will receive it in the email you provided to newegg. Log into the game community you are established with, then go to the Batman Arkham Knight page and add it to your cart. There should be some location to add the code that is sent to you. I'm a PC guy that uses Steam, that is how I downloaded and activated it. **WARNING** This game is next gen graphics and requires a new, specifically designed driver for the game to work at all. I'm an AMD/ATI guy, so I had to go the AMD support website and download the newest BETA driver before I ever started up the game. If you do not do this, your game WILL NOT WORK. Please don't blame the game for your inattention to the required specs. Good luck! BTW: The game is the most phenomenal thing I've ever encountered. Love it.

It says the DRM is Steam, so that would seem to be the Steam version. I don't think any other companies are using Steam's DRM. Not sure about the pre-order content.
