Why a backplate on LGA1700

With this massive plate the load on the motherboard is distributed over a larger area, and the mechanical pressure on the board is reduced. As a result, Watercool says, it is even possible to achieve enhanced temperatures. For mounting a HEATKILLER IV on LGA1700, Watercool strongly recommends installing it with a backplate.

What you need to mount it

The plate works with a block of the HEATKILLER IV series, for example the HEATKILLER IV PRO (Intel LGA 1X00) ACRYLIC CLEANMounting material is part of the scope of delivery.

Notes

• Tighten the studs and knurled nuts evenly and crosswise for optimal surface pressure.
• A metal washer goes between spring and mounting bracket, and an isolating plastic washer between stud and mainboard.
