My parents live about 1500 feet ( 2 houses over) If they were to plug this into their home could they pick up the signal? I have signal outside their house but when I go in there is nothing

I think that is to long a distance. The setup requires you to pair it to the router in your house then it can be positioned at the mid point in your home to extend the signal to other points that might have only a faint signal best range might be increased to 150 -200 ft. don't expect much more.

Can you use more than 1 in the same house?

Yes, any number can be used so long as it can receive a signal from your router. It connects via WPS so it extends you base routers range.

If I purchase 2 of these units, can I setup so first unit receives wireless signal then connects to second unit, via ethernet cable, which then retransmits original wifi signal?

I tried to connect to a switch and could not get it to work, also tried it as a repeater which didnt work also. I returned it to newegg
