In my situation, I have a PC that has no WiFi capability.  Is this a product that would work for me, or is this a range extender only?  Would I need WiFi capability prior to installing this device?

It's function is to give you WiFi capability on a device that presently does not have WiFi built in. It's performance depends upon numerous factors. Does your computer have a free USB port ? Preferable a 3.0 USB but would be backward compatible to 2.0 but would not be as fast. Other factors in play would be the operating system on your computer and how fast the processor is. Also the location of your WiFi modem in distance to your computers location will effect its performance. Personally if your a little tech savvy you should be ok. You might want to consider just installing a WiFi adapter card if you have an open bay in your computer and knowledgeable in it's install. All in all this adapter will give you the wireless function you seek as long as you have a wireless modem from your internet provider.

Using smart phone as hot spot to my smart tv; receiving 'insufficient bandwidth' - what device would be needed?

Question 4

NewEgg description lists "SuperSpeed USB 2.0" in several places, but also "USB 3.0" in some places.  Which is it?  USB consortium uses "SuperSpeed" to refer to USB 3.0.  Is "USB 2.0" a bunch of typos?

USB 2.0 can only deliver at best 480 Mbps. from what I've been reading on the interwebs. So even if its USB 2.0 compatible, you wont get its full potential (speed, power, range) unless you use a USB 3.0 connection.
