I don't think this is actually an SLC drive... It seems like it just uses "SLC caching technology", which I think means it uses TLC NAND but treats the unused space as SLC for the purpose of caching until it starts to fill up. Does anyone know for sure?

I don't know of a way to find out for sure without a doubt. You just have to trust the manufacturer. SSD's have come a very long way, and all name-brand SSD's are very reliable regardless of the technology used. 240GB is a little small these days as well, and I regret not getting a larger drive.
