i would like to know if this fits a nvidia geforce GTX 680 card. also how does this work?

In the specifications this says it fits the GTX 680.  
Now how it works is this: You remove your stock cooler on your graphics card.  This cooler comes with heat sinks you can glue on to your card.  The cooler itself fits over these heat sinks and has a portion that fits directly onto your GPU.  It is held in place using a screw-tension backboard that you need to place behind your card (don't forget to line up the holes).   The fans mainly help with moving air through the heat sinks you'll glue to your card components.  This card cooler is a closed loop system so the cooling fluid goes from GPU cooler plate to fan/radiator setup (the black square thing) and back again.
The directions suck but you should be able to manage fitting it together in about an hour.  Protip: Make sure your case can fit your card with this mod.  The cooling tubes (big rubber tubes that come out the end) will add at least an inch to the end of your card which might make it a difficult fit sans modding your case slightly.  And as someone else mentioned, MAKE SURE the rubber spacers are dried and set (takes about 10 min) before putting everything together or you'll have a bad time.

The way this cooler works, you'll end up taking off the entire case to replace it with this cooler.  IMO it should be compatible but you may have to move wires around for everything to fit well. (this goes for the space between the cooler and card as well as fitting this into your case.. something I had to do with mine as well).  For a cooler that does such a great job though its worth it (max temps never exceeding over 6-10c of room temp.)

Does anyone make anything like this anymore? I know HIS used this cooler on their 290x. I dont like the new Arctic cooler i need VRAM and VRM cooling for 2 R9 290

Just another option, look at corsairs new cooler, it is designed to use one of there liquid coolers by buying this bracket that hooks up to your video card. I think it will be worth it, make sure you look at it to make sure it is compatible with your card hope it helps

No. I tried myself. It would take a lot of dremel time to cut to fit.

Does the manufacturer know if it will works with 290, 290x? Has anyone installed it on R290x? i have these for my two 6950s already!

I have installed it on a R9 290X. you'll need 3 additional RAM sinks, and I went for thermal pads instead of the glue.

Hello! I wish to ask some current owners if they know of the Accelero Hybrid's ability to be mounted sideways. Every last picture of this thing shows the reservoir/tubes on the bottom., and I have a case where mounting it sideways (reservoir on left/right side) would be better. Has anyone tried to use it sideways? I only ask because Arctic has taken more than a week to answer the same question.

My case had the same issue for the front so my res has sat sideways for over a year.

No issues and no drop in performance compared to when I had it vertical in the back.

I have a 290X one of the reference models that are only available at this time. I decided to replace the loud cooler for this option. I notice that this package comes with a glue solution which applies the heatsinks over the memory chipset, etc. I would not want to have the heatsinks become permanently attached to the board due to RMA and warranty reasons. I noticed Artic sells thermal pads on their site which work just as well or good enough. I was wondering of the thickness and the amount of pads that would cover all which is needed for the 290X?

Thermal pads wont work for the aplication you want. For the amount of money you spent on the 290x I would get a full cover waterblock, pump, fittings ect.
