Will I be able to use this headset on a Xbox one because of the new Plugin mic on the controller. will they send me a adapter in the future?

This is what Astro Gaming said:

"Game Audio for the Xbox One will function as normal, through the optical output – meaning all our current products will deliver full Dolby ® Digital GAME AUDIO on the XBOX One.  However, the chat connector on the controller is now a proprietary connector, meaning that our current products will require an adapter to connect to the controller for Xbox Live voice chat.  Fortunately, until this chat adapter is available, the built-in Kinect microphone will provide full voice communication access to Xbox Live while using ASTRO headsets on the Xbox One.

Regarding new Xbox One products in our pipeline, we are an officially licensed Xbox One partner, but we are not allowed to comment on the specifics of any products we have under development. Rest assured, none of our current products will be made obsolete by anything going on in the Xbox One ecosystem."

Are these the same Astro a40's as on the Astro website now?

It is the 2013 edition. I will add that you should not purchase this item. There are far too many flaws concerning the amp  that is not resolvable. The headsets are fine, but the mix amp is not worth the extra cost which is the whole point of this set.

This is the 2013 edition. you can tell because the earlier editions have the two buttons on the very bottom instead of between the two volume knobs. Some of the earlier models had issues with the USB cables that were shipped so you may want to pick up a decent quality USB A to Mini USB cable if you order from anywhere other than their factory. Of course ordering from their factory may take several weeks just to ship as I found out when I ordered one as a Christmas present...

Question 4

1)Would you recommend this product with the mix amp right now?

2)Are the bugs fixed with the latest a40?

3)Most of the game do not take advantage of the surround sound, so lets say i buy the headset without the mixamp will i get the sound you guys talk about?

4)on Bad reviews people talk about USB cable problems, and cables in gral, if i buy the entire system (headset +mixamp) do i need to worry about buying other accesories? what if i buy only the headset?

5) i dont live in the US, if by chance my headset are faulty, how will astro gaming manage that?

1) I love this headset. It really sounds great and the fit is perfect. Not too tight and not too lose.

2) The biggest issue I had was some static noise until I restarted my computer. After restarting it was gone and has never come back.

3) I have never hooked the headphones straight into my sound card, so I'm not sure. I do know that for the mixamp to work you need to have and SPDIF out on your sound card. If you don't have one you will need a sound card that has one or you might as well skip the mix amp completely and just get the headphones.

4)I swapped out the USB cable on the set I bought here before even trying it because I had a better quality cable laying around, so I don't know for sure if these have the USB cable problem or not. USB cables are pretty cheap and can be picked up anywhere, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

5) you would have to contact astro for this information.

Question 5

Do these work with the regular xbox?  My son wants these for Christmas and I want to make sure they are compatible.  Thanks!

These work on the xbox 360 and on the xbox one. They are great quality and work well. I did have a problem with the mix amp at one point but Astro was very good and repaired at no charge. I have been very happy with my set.
