Can I scan a book with this -- is the scanner cover hinged so I can close it over a book? Thanks, Bob

The flatbed cover is hinged and it articulates allowing for books to be scanned. Depending on the size and thickness of the book it may distort the text slightly and may leave a 'shadow' area toward the center of the open book. Overall this scanner does an excellent job of scanning documents and photos. The automatic document feed works well, no jams at all.
