Does this scanner connect to a computer by wireless or USB connection?

The connection is USB only, there is no built in wireless.

I'm wondering if this is re-furbished or new? I don't see any indication of either.

Diane,

The one I purchased was a new one.  However, it had a problem on start up.  I called the company and worked with tech support to determine that it was defective.  They gave me an RMA and I sent it back to the company.  In about two weeks I recieved one back from Xerox and it was in a different box, so I may have a re-furbished scanner, at this point I don't really know.

The one that I received from the company is still working fine and I still have the rest of the warranty, if I need it.

Is this compatible with Mac OSX, and Windows platforms?

I know that it is compatible with the Windows platforms, but do not know about the Mac OSX platform.  I do not have experience with that platform.  Sorry.

Will it scan each sheet in a stack of documents as an individual PDF's automatically?

I havent tried. But when i want to separate i right click on it in the app and select unstack. It is instant.  This scanner works very well for me.

Does this model scan to PDF and TIIF files?

Yes to PDF, not sure about TIIF but I believe it does.  I just started using and suprised by the speed and results however, I couldn't load it with more that about 20 pages because it would grab more than one.

does this one automatically detect and remove blank pages?

No, it does not remove blank pages.  Also, on my machine, it tends to jam if you are trying to scan more than 5 pages at a time.

What file formats can be created by scanner?  (can it scan straight to PDF if desired?)

I think the software is compatible with both PC and MAC. The scanner can scan straight PDF if you wish, which is the format I use most.
