Does the printer come with ink catridges?

Yes it does.

When I bought mine, I read complaints that the toner cartridges that come with the printer contain much material.  We don't print much and ours have not run out in the months we've owned the printer.

Replacement cartridges cost more than the printer if you don't find an off brand supplier.

Does it have a manual feed?

Yes, it has a manual single sheet feed through a slot in the front above the paper tray. From personal experience you have to hold it as it feeds to keep it strait and aligned. It does the job just not as nice as some other printers I have owned.

CAn it use card stock?

Yes, it can use card stock.  I have printed with card stock and it loads fine from the paper tray.  The manual feed is not advisable because it feeds the paper a bit sloppily.  Very inconsistent alignment using manual fee.  Just put the card stock in the paper tray and you shouldn't have any problems.  We love this printer other than the manual feed issue.

Yes, the printer does come with 4 toner cartridges (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black).

Do this xerox phaser 6500 printers come with full toner cartridges?

I don't think so.  I've had my printer for a couple months and haven't printed enough to warrant the message I'm seeing about having low toner already.    I did find generic toner at a fraction of the cost and I will be replacing them soon so hopefully the generic toner makes this purchase worthwhile!

Question 6

What communications protocols does this printer support.  The Specifications page both here and on Xerox's site does not specify.  It certainly must support TCP/IP, but does it support anything else?  E.g. SPX/IPX, AppleTalk, etc.?

I'm specifically interested in AppleTalk support.  The Phaser line had it in the past, although they don't bother to mention it in the specifications.  Is it still present?

I DON'T KNOW THE ANSWER TO THAT SPECIFIC QUESTION. HOWEVER, I'M WORKING ON A IMAC COMPUTER AND THE PRINTER WORK WELL WITH IT.
