Yes. I use it just fine in my dell optiplex pc. Got the latest drivers from AMD and it works great.

Will this work in slots PCIe x 16?  or in the basic PCI slot?

howdlidoodlirooni shopperooni,
this is a PCI express device and will not work nor physcially fit into a regular PCI slot.  furthermore, the PCI-e revision for this device is 3.0, although i am running in a PCI-e 2.0 slot.  it is a 16x card though, as you have mentioned.

I am wondering if this vid card would be a viable option for a budget gamer build? I have a Gigabyte mATX mobo, with an AMD FX 8320 visera 8core cpu 2x4 gig sniper series ram, and 450 watt psu /w 1 TB seagate HDD. I will be getting a raidmax 630w PSU to make sure there is plenty of power. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry I am not a techy but I can tell you that I bought this a while ago and its been playing games pretty smoothly for me.

I have been running...

Dark souls 2, Payday 2, Ages 3, Ghost in the shell, Borderlands the pre squeal and Heroes and generals just fine with medium to high graphics.

Its a good card for a budget. (especially since its low profile.)

Works fine for me and doesn't use much wattage it is a single slot not sure about your compatibility. Good buy though.

The best thing to do is contact the manufacturer to see if it's compatible first. Once I determined it was compatable with my slim line (little Dell 760), I just removed the upper part of the card since I needed the low profile advantage. The piece you remove can go into an adjacent slot as well so you lose no functionality.

Isn't the optiplex the lil bitty small PC, if so chances are it won't, if its any other yes it will. Card is small but not sure of ur case measurements.
