I have an AMD A6-5400k processor and 8GB of RAM currently. My OS is Windows 8 and since I'm using on-board graphics I wanted to buy some form of GPU suitable for gaming. Would this card be compatible with my computer?

The compatibility of this product has less to do with your processor and ram and more to do with the physical configuration of your computer and specification of it's motherboard.  Faster or slower CPUs will affect performance as will the amount of RAM but they don't determine compatibility with a card like this.

Questions you need to answer for compatibility are:
1.  Does your computer motherboard have a PCI Express slot available?
2.  Does your computer have free space next to the PCI Express slot so this double-wide card (the radiator takes up a slot) will fit?
3.  Does your computer power supply have enough to power this device and all the others?  I used this in a system with a 250w power supply and it was fine.  I think this card takes about 30-35w.
4.  Does your computer have sufficient internal airflow so this fanless video card doesn't overheat?
5.  Are video drivers available for the operating system you are using?  Most modern Windows based OSs should be fine.

Remember that this is a low end but current generation video card so it will play contemporary games at the minimum video settings.
