Question 1

I am considering attaching the HDMI port to a denon receiver with HDMI ports so I can view shows online on my TV and get 5.1 surround sound. Has anyone else tried this? is the card capable of outputting sound through the HDMI port?

I have the HDMI connected directly to my HDTV, and yes, this card does output sound through the HDMI.  I am going to assume that it is 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound, but I am not positive.  It is a pretty solid card and made my home theater PC silent!

Question 2

Most modern Video Cards are HDCP compliant, but I do not see it listed in the specifications.  Would this card work in a cablecard-tuner (Ceton InfiniTV) equipped system?

Yes the card is HDCP compliant.  As a matter of fact this is what I use this card for.  I have a HTPC with this video card and an Infinitv PCIe 6 card installed - all very silent.  I was having a problem viewing Media Center full screen with Windows 8.1 with the driver for Intel HD 4000 and this solved that problem.

Question 3

Will this card be compatible with dual graphics on a Kaveri APU specifically the a10-7850k and is this a true r7 series or a rebranded and updated  HD7000 series?

Hi Brian, I am unable to answer your two questions without some research. The Kaveri APU should already have good graphics, but to insure increased frame rates I would go with the 260. This card was what I needed because I wanted fanlesss and bought a 27 inch vewsonic monitor also from newegg. The A6 5400k I have would play them with on board graphics and a 21 inch monitor with settings turned down. But with the 27 inch monitor perfomance was lacking some.Now with the 27 inch monitor, this card gives me a lot more frame rates than I had with the 21 inch running on board graphics, and with the graphics turned all the way up. Understand I play older games such as FEAR. Temperatures are very good. I have windows 8.1.

Will this card crossfire with the AMD A10-7850K Kaveri?

Yes, Hybrid CrossFire will work between the A10-7850K and Radeon R7 250 series cards.

Is this card capable of running dual 1080p monitors?

Yes it will support 2x1080, it supports 4k as well!

Is it practical for use in gaming, or will it overheat?

it does support crossfire meaning it will be ok with good ventilation for gaming use speedfan to always monitor heat.

How is the cooling on it since i see its passive cooling? i dont plan to overclock

This card is going to be dependant on the cooling of your case, or the card having access to nice open flowing air.

Otherwise the heatsink will just collect the heat if it doesnt have anywhere release the energy to.
