Question 1

I installed this card  and it ran fine then on a restart it didn't work anymore.  The fans would stop and start like it was resetting itself.  No video what so ever.  Checked all connection and pulled it out and put it back in still no good.  Any ideas?

Have you swapped your power leads around to make sure the lines haven't gone bad?  Test your power supply PCIe connectors with a tester or borrow another power supply if you can.  The fans on this card normally don't run 100% of the time - just if temps warrant it.  But they should run during POST.  Are you getting any beeps during POST from the motherboard which might indicate no video card present?  Check the seating in the slot and try another PCIe slot if you have one.  Can you see anything on the screen during early boot like mothermotherboard splash screen or POST results?  Also try another monitor cable just in case and even another power cord for your pc.  Any power fluctuations will cause this kind of behavior.  Can you tell if the pc is booting all the way up even though you can't see anything?  Watch the other fans on the motherboard and listen to the hard drive.

can this card play Arma2 OA and get more FPS then my current HD 7700 gets? (roughly 35-60 FPS)

The R9 270 is a step up from the 7700 line. The 7870 = 270. The R9 285 is pretty close to the 7950. Hope that helps.

is this hdpc ready?

I'm not sure what you mean by "HDPC" ready, if you mean "Is HDCP supported" then yes. If you mean something else, like HTPC; I do use this in my HTPC for 4k support, it fits well in my limited depth chassis (e.g. a standard full length card doesn't fit).

Question 4

The specs on this card in the description mention a minimum 500w power supply, but I've seen elsewhere it listed at a minimum 750w. Anybody have any insight as to which is more realistic?

I would recommend getting a bronze certified or better power supply.  They are more efficient and won't be drawing the full load unless needed.  I went with an 860 to ensure possible crossfire setup if I choose to.

Question 5

Does this use 6 pin or 8 pin power connecters?

I have this card.  It uses the 6 pin connectors, but you will need two of them.  My power supply has 8 pin connectors but the last two pins are not part of the "block" so I have them bent back and zip tied to the wiring.
