Will the warranty on this card be voided if I were to have a professional install an aftermarket cooler?

XFX normally does allow you to change the cooling to a after market cooling with their cards and even would do it for you if you requested it. Since AMD told their board partners that changing the cooling will void their warranty with them for the R series cards, XFX may not allow it any more for the R series.  To make sure it be best to contact XFX to see if your warranty will be voided with XFX with regards to the R series.

Question 2

Do i need to use both the 6 pin port and the 8 pin port or can I just use the 6 pin port for the plugs?

Yes, you have to use both the 6 pin and 8 pin ports. It's also recommended that you have at least a 700 watt power supply (that size typically has ample 6 and 8 pin plugs). The card does come with an adapter that converts two 6 pin plugs into an 8 pin, but XFX DOES NOT recommend using it, as the card is pretty power hungry. I tried the adapter upon first install and received multiple bluescreens until I just used an 8 pin instead.

Question 3

This XFX R9 290 card included Battlefield 4,but about the game itself,it must be a digital type. And there is the question,this BF4 is digital standard edition?Or maybe the digtal deluxe edition?
I want to know the answer.

I just got it through xfx. It's the standard edition I believe and you need to go to the manufacturers site and register. There's nothing actually in the box about it. I was diapointed at first until I checked the xfx site. Hope that helps, they also keep saying limited supply so b warned.

Yes, you can fit up to 5 graphics cards of varying cooler thickness.

Looks like this question was asked just to show off. I would expect someone with an LN-2 class motherboard would know if a pcie card fits in a pcie slot.

This card is more expensive than any other brand. Is there anything that makes it superior to those less expensive alternatives?

I'm currently using two XFX HD6950's on EyeFinity @ 5760x1080. I'm primarily a gamer and the aforementioned GPU's run BF4 on medium in at the said resolution. Being that I am huge fan of AMD and XFX, I'd like purchase this GPU but I can only afford one and I'm concerned about running EyeFinity on just a single GPU. Will it take the work load? Can I get by with just one?

I just purchased this card as of last week. So far so good considering I upgraded from an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460. BF4 runs at 70 - 100 FPS on almost Ultra settings for single player at 1920x1080 / 45 - 80 FPS on almost high settings for multiplayer. I have never used EyeFinity before, but I do use 3 monitors all plugged into this card.

To answer your question, this video card is a beast.. I believe that there will be more updates along the way to make this card a little faster and fix some bugs. I am not sure yet if my card is defective or just having driver issues (still trying to find an error).. When I first installed I thought I cleared all my old drivers, but apparently I did not.. If you do get this card, be sure to use a driver cleaner (Guru3D Video Driver Unistaller, I recommend), be sure you DO get the XFX edition, install the disk driver, THEN the driver provided on AMD website..

If all else fails you can always return the card or if you have problems, XFX is great with customer support (you probably already know that)

ONE LAST THING TO ADD TO THIS BOOK. 
Rumors of being able to flash the bios from 290 to 290X, however I do not believe anyone has had a stable test to verify.... (increase clock speeds)..

I purchased this card a few days ago and put it in my machine, i possess a 1000watt power supply and 8350 CPU, my games continually black screen mid game play and after numerous Windows 8.1 (64bit) and driver re-installs i still have this problem..any thoughts?

These issues have been popping up since release. In my case and many others I have seen a simple reformat has been the cure to their problems. There will still be cases where users get bum cards though.

The phenomenon I am reference has been even happening to people upgrading from 7000series GPU's

I haven't done enough research to know exactly what is the cause, but from my observation of the internet reformatting seems to do it the majority of the time.

Question 8

If the bf4 special offer doesnt show up on the screen, does that mean its out of stock? When i look at some cards that promote bf4 there is a little newegg promotion that says it is included;however, i dont see it on this gpu's page...so is it in stock?

One you receive the card from new egg it includes all the information with it for claiming your game.  The process involves registering the card with AMD, then claiming a EA game code from the AMD site, logging into Origin (EA's game client), and then entering your game code from AMD with Origin - which will FINALLY get you the game.

So i plugf in a 6 pin in the 6 pin slot but is it ok to plug a six pin into the 8 pin slot and a 2 pin as well to make a 8 pin?

My card did not come with a 6pin to 8pin adapter. However you CAN plug the 6 pin into the 8pin without problem.

If I remember correctly this used to lock out overclocking options in CCC, not sure of other softwares.

does this game REALLY come with BF 4 now?  one of the reviews said it didn't, so does it or not?

It does come with BF4. In order to get the code you have to register the card with XFX on their website. There will be a little slip in the box with the link and product registration info.
