Question 1

Will this physically fit in a Dell Inspirion 580?
Existing PSU is 5 1/2"L x 5 7/8" W x 3 3/8" H.

Hello,
Don't know about a Dell box.  My XFX is installed in a Lian Li Micro ATX box that measures 7.5" wide x 17.5" long x 15.25" tall.  The XFX is bottom mounted and it's top is about 1/8" away from the bottom of the motherboard.  
I have no complaints and no problems.

I just purchased this seeing it was 24 & 8 &4+4. It hasn't arrived yet but I purchased thinking this meant you could use it in 24 pin or 8 pin or 24 and 4 ect.. For future proofing. Now I am thinking it meant 24 +8 or 24 +4. So will this work in just my 24 pin ATX motherboard?

You will be fine. Those are all different optional power configurations.
