Question 1

this cooler says its good for AM3 and AM3+ is nearly the same. so should it work ok for an AM3+ mobo/cpu? cpu rated at 95w

I have mine on a msi 990fx AMD3+ board and using a 8350 FX AMD cpu. My CPU temps average 30-35c at idle and 40-45c at load. Although I DID swap out the included fan for an aftermarket Corsair fan. Also, I have four large sticks of ram that VERY snuggly fits right beside the cooler/fan. I'm not very adapt at installing aftermarket coolers...but with a little help from searching youtube videos about this cooler I was able to figure it all out. This bad boy will absolutely work on your am3+ 95w cpu. And it looks so so clean when installed. No messy hoses and wires like water coolers. Hope my answer helps.

Can this cooler work 7/24 ?

Without knowing more about your specific setup, there is no way to guarantee an answer to this.

That said, if it is capable of handling the temperature at any given time, then yes it is capable of handling that same load 24/7. Unless you are running an insanely overvolted and overclocked setup (which should be water-cooled in any case) then this cooler can handle the thermal load for any length of time.

If you are experiencing higher than average temps (mine runs at about 8c over ambient with constant usage as an HTPC), I would suggest that you first check your case cooling setup to insure there is sufficient airflow. This cooler can only function at its best in fresh air; overheated stagnant air in a case will decrease its ability to remove heat from the processor.

Question 3

Will it touch the ram, specifically corsair vengeance?

If you put two fans on it in push/pull then yes it will.  I have mine angled such that the air flow is exhausted vertically out the top of my case rather then horizontally out the back, if that makes sense.  Either way, if you use just the stock fan only, you will be able to use all 4 RAM slots. you will not be disappointed with this cooler!  If having optimal cooling is important to you as well as using all 4 RAM slots,  then I would look into a water cooler for your CPU.

How quiet does this cooler run?  I mainly want a cooler that is very quiet since I won't be doing any overclocking.

I got this cooler in August for a new high-end gaming PC, but was unhappy with the noise level of the stock fan.

If you're looking for an extremely quiet fan to pair with this cooler, I recommend NewEgg item number N82E16835553002.  Would have added a direct link but newegg won't let me =P.

4670k OC @ 4.8 GHZ running with WOW open 32-38 Degree

Running a 4670k stock - Not sure of my current temps. Remember if you are running WOW that does not affect your CPU all that much. You'll need a more intense game to see how effective this cooler is.

Question 6

Will this fit in the Raidmax Super Hurricane case with the MSI Zh77a-g43 case? It is 183 mm wide. Also will this work with G.Skill ram that has the large red heatsinks?

As far as I know, the CPU Cooler is around 159mm, so you would have about 24mm of clearance. I have used this cooler with G.Skill Ripjaws X ram before and clearance just hits the spot. You would have to mount the CPU Fan a tad higher with the rubber screws they give you to make it a secure fit. It is completely compatible but low profile ram works flawlessly.

Hey folks,

I've heard of some compatibility issues with Noctua coolers and the EGVA Stinger motherboard; something about a metal bracer on the back of their MITX board that is interfering with the installation. Does the Dark Knight II have problems mounting on a Stinger motherboard?

I see no interference at the back of the motherboard as shown in the pictures with the EVGA Stinger motherboard on the LGA 1155 or LGA 1150 configurations. But if there is, you can easily chip off parts of the backplate as it's rather easy to do and the heatsink is relatively lightweight and will not affect it's performance. The only Mini-ITX I remember that has bad compability was the ASRock Mini-ITX motherboards that had a module chip right next to the mounting holes at the back making it impossible to place on unless you chip of the backplate. Does this have preapplyed thermal paste, or will i need to get seperate container of thermal paste?

No it does not have pre-applied thermal paste.  It does contain a small packet of kmsc thermal conductive compound.  It is not a generous proportion, but should be just the right amount if you apply it properly.

Can this be installed on a ASUS M5A78L-M LX PLUS AM3+ motherboard?

The unit comes with hardware to install on AM3+ motherboards, however, being a big unit, it might block a RAM slot or two depending on your RAM height. With my ASUS Z87 -A, if I had memory module with a heat sink such as Vengeance or Ripjaws, The module would be touching the heatsink. With that ceramic though, the heatsink stays fairly cool to the touch.

Will this work with a Cool Master Storm Enforcer Case and Asus Z87-PLUS  motherboard?

Motherboard - Yes Case - Check the measurements of the case and cooler to make sure you will have room. It's a large cooler so double check. I would say yes it would though.
