Question 1

I have an ASUS motherboard with it's own heatsink.  Will this drive's heatsink interfere with the ASUS heatsink.  Can it be removed?

I bought this drive because it has a low profile. It works beautifully in my Motile 14 in laptop. It would all depend on the layout of your motherboard. Mine was laid out to give plenty of room for another drive. It did not interfere with the motherboards heatsink.

From my experience and what I learned online about this hard drive,  yes I believe it will work...  If the exact speed dos not match it will still be almost 100 time faster than a SSD.  I needed to install Windows before the drives were recognized on my board, but they work fine now.
