I have a zoom cable modem 3.0 series 1094.  I'm switching from cable to Century Link.  I don't suppose there is an adapter to convert this modem from cable to telephone wire?

NO. two different technologies altogether.  I'm a network engineer, unless you're gonna purchase a few 100-thousand-dollars the answer is No, no adapter, just doesn't work that way.  Just get yourself another modem for a hundred bucks or so

WHAT KIND OF CONNECTIVITY ISSUES ARE THERE WITH THIS DEVICE USING XFINITY?

Comcast Xfinity warning!  This worked better than some in the past but ultimately I spent a good deal of time explaining connectivity issues to people in India with fake American names while veins budged out of my forehead.  After the obligatory "power cycle" that never fixes the problem I was told it sounds like a Zoom problem.  Great.  The Zoom guy at least tried to troubleshoot using his brain instead of reading from a script.  How did this work???  Currently I have a Motorola SURFboard SBG6782-AC that has been working flawlessly for the past 5 months.  I don't recommend using the Zoom 5352 with Comcast but mostly I don't recommend using Comcast because they are just awful on every level.  I have a feeling the Zoom 5352 works just fine with other ISP's.

Is this item a modem/router that is compatible with Comcast?  Will it eliminate the need for renting the present modem I rent from Comcast?  Thank you.

I have Time Warner Cable and it works fine.  I used it to replace the TWC cable modem that they rented to me for $7/month.

I believe I read in the compatibility list that it also supports Comcast.  I suggest you call them and verify that a DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem will work before you purchase.

The Zoom works great, but note that it does not support 5Ghz WiFi, only 2.4Ghz (802.11 b/g/n) wireless.

The WPS button iniates Protected Setup (WPS) or Push 'n' Connect? Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) is a standard for easy and secure wireless network set up and connections.  Do a Google search for more information.

Oops, last answered too quickly. Zoom 5352 has 4 Ethernet ports out. It has cable in connection and an on/off switch and a power plug connection. The Zoom website is your best source for information on Zoom products, not always owners. This cable modem / wireless router combo has been working great since last Spring.

Can I hook up a phone jack to it?

No, there is no phone jack. We had to get Ooma for our phones. Cable companies must have an agreement with the modem manufacturers because we could not find ANY modems with a phone jack that are available to the public. Otherwise this is a great modem.

cable co says I need a D3 router, is this one?

I just had cable installed in my house and I'm using this wireless modem.  It complies with what's needed for Xfinity and Comcast cable.  Hope that helps.

No, it's all network cables and one coax to connect to Cox.  The cable providers don't need a phone line connection.  Hope this helps.

Do the antennas on this unit come off, so I can add an external WiFi booster? The booster has a short cable with 5/16" SMA connector.
