Q: What type of SSD HD does this unit support?

I utilized the following SSD in mine ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227926 ). At the time it was sub-$100. It only runs at SATA II because that is what the ZBox supports, but it works just fine.

No, it does not have such a connector. It does have three USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 external ports.

can i use a different memory speed something like 1333 instead?

Shouldn't be an issue. DDR3 1333/PC3-10666 is what I use on most of the ID-41s that I bought. Here's the particular RAM I use - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231215 These are great little boxes.
