I see PSU recommended is 650w but I've been running a quality 525W PSU for years w/ a power hungry GTX 970 which this will replace. Does anyone know if it will work? 650w PSU recommendation seems excessive. Thanks.

If i only have one 8 pin connector to power it, do i need to buy a 6 pin one as well?

Yes, as shown in the photos, it needs 8-Pin + 6-Pin to operate. Most power supplies have these available or have adapters to match this config.

I have a 550w Seasonic Prime PSU running this card and a i7-8700K (both with moderate OC's on them) and haven't had any issues. The card is stable and performs well in my mini ITX set up. If you have a full ATX rig with a lot of peripherals and other components drawing wattage it may be an issue, but for my slimmed down build it works just fine!

yes, a vr headset would plug into the hdmi port on this graphics card.
